Marc Debus is Professor of Comparative Government at the University of Mannheim and the director of the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES).
He studied Political Science, Sociology, Methods and Statistics, and History and the Universities of Marburg and Mannheim from 1999 until 2003 and finished his PhD at the University of Konstanz in 2006.
His research interests include political institutions, in particular in multi-level systems, and their effects on legislative behaviour, party competition and coalition governance. In addition, he is interested in the relationship between integration, participation and representation and in the analysis of political texts of parties and their representatives.
His articles have appeared in the Journal of Politics, The European Journal of Political Research, Political Research Quarterly, Public Choice, Legislative Studies Quarterly, West European Politics, European Union Politics, Party Politics, Electoral Studies and Political Science Research and Methods, among other journals.
