Mihail Chiru is a visiting lecturer at the Department of Political Science, Central European University. In September 2017 he started a two-year postdoctoral project at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, focusing on legislative behaviour and legislative organisation in the European Parliament. He earned a PhD in political science from Central European University in 2015.
Previously, he was Research Director of the Median Research Centre, Bucharest, where he worked on various national and international research projects funded by OSF, Horizon 2020 and EEA - Norway Grants. Mihail has also worked as Associate Researcher at the Lucian Blaga University, Sibiu, Romania (2013-2016) and as Research Fellow at the Center for the Study of Imperfections in Democracies (DISC) at CEU (2010-2012).
He is mainly interested in issues related to political representation and the effects of electoral and legislative institutions on political behaviour. He has authored or co-authored more than two dozen articles on legislative behaviour, party politics and candidate campaigns.
