About Akwugo  Emejulu
Akwugo Emejulu is a Professor in the Department of Sociology, University of Warwick. Before entering academia, she worked as a community organiser, a trade union organiser and a participatory action researcher in the United States and Britain. She took up her currrent post in February 2017, having previously been a Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.

Akwugo's research interests lie in racial, ethnic and gender social and economic inequalities in Europe and the US, and in activism for social citizenship and social justice by women of colour.
